1.  Would a representative from The Jena Foundation agree to speak at our group or school?
   Yes.  We welcome the opportunity!  Please contact us to make arrangements.  
 
2. Can I make a donation by credit card?
     Yes.  We accept both Visa and MasterCard.   Instructions can be found on our Donation Programs page.
 
3. Can I make a donation in foreign currency?
     U.S. dollars are preferred.  Please contact us via email if you wish to donate using foreign currency.
 
4. Does The Jena Foundation represent a particular religion?
     No.  The Jena Foundation is a non-denominational organization dedicated to serving humanity and building unity among all people.
 
5. Are there volunteer opportunities available at The Jena Foundation?
     We accept the sincere help of anyone wanting to volunteer time, expertise, assistance, or donations.      
 
6. Does The Jena Foundation do work in the U.S.A. or other countries besides India?
     The need for assistance in Orissa is overwhelming, however, as our organization grows and we are able to organize greater support and funding, we would like to offer relief efforts within the United States as well as in other countries worldwide.   
 
7.  Can I send my used clothing to you or make other donations of tangible articles/goods?
      Shipping costs can make accepting tangible item donations prohibitive.  Please contact us regarding the items you would like to donate. 
 
8.   Can I send a memorial gift or a contribution in honor of another individual?
        Yes!  Please see our Donation Programs page.
 
9.   How much does The Jena Foundation pay its staff?
       Currently, there are no paid positions within The Jena Foundation .
 
10. Are contributions to The Jena Foundation tax deductible?
       The Jena Foundation has applied for 501(C) (3) nonprofit status at which time donations will qualify as charitable contributions and be tax deductible.  Whether or not your contributions to The Jena Foundation are deductible on your tax return may depend upon your own financial situation and the tax forms you file.  We recommend you contact the IRS or a tax advisor if you are in doubt.
 
11.  How much of what I contribute to The Jena Foundation goes to the projects and how much
     is spent on overhead?
       85% goes toward actual relief efforts.  15% goes toward operating expenses.
 
12. Where do you get your funding?
       The Jena Foundation accepts personal, corporate, and private donations.  We accept donations from individuals, families, schools, clubs, organizations, and businesses.  We also accept monies from endowments, trusts, and grants.
 
13. How large is your staff and who establishes The Jena Foundation policies?
      The Jena Foundation has no paid staff at this time.   Currently, all administrative details are carried forth by members of the Board of Directors, who serve as advisors to the Co-Founders.
 
14. What role does the government of India play in The Jena Foundation?
      We welcome the support of the government of India.  We comply with all local and national laws.
 
15. What role does the U.S. government play?
      We welcome the support of the government of the United States of America.  We comply with all local and national laws.
 
16. Can I donate medical/dental supplies?
      Yes.  Please contact us via email with information about donations of this kind.
 
17. Can I donate my professional services?
       Yes.  Please contact us via email with information about the type of services you can offer.            
 
18. Do you have an individual child sponsorship program?
       Not at this time.
